Qatar Denounces Israeli Approval of 19 New West Bank Settlements as Grave Breach of International Law

Date:

The State of Qatar has strongly condemned the Israeli occupation government’s decision to approve the establishment of 19 new settlements in the occupied West Bank, describing the move as a flagrant violation of international law and a direct breach of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334. Doha said the decision represents a blatant assault on the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.

In an official statement, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that continued settlement expansion undermines all prospects for peace and constitutes a serious escalation that threatens regional stability. The ministry called on the international community to uphold its legal and moral responsibilities by taking concrete action to compel Israel to immediately halt its settlement policies across the occupied Palestinian territories.

The statement reaffirmed Qatar’s firm and unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the resilience of the brotherly Palestinian people. Qatar emphasized that its position is grounded in international law and the two-state solution, which guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
